My Resources is a starting place for you to learn about the variety of resources available and to help you decide what may work best for you.  These resources may be drawn upon and used as a support or help in your life.  Resources are a tool to assist you or the people you care about in managing depression and improving mental wellbeing.

Why Use My Resources?

Resources are a tool which can assist us to move forward in our life.  Resources can assist in a variety of way. For example they can;

  • Provide us with professional support
  • Educate us when we are unsure
  • Help us to help others
  • Teach us coping skills
  • Offer understanding and support when we feel isolated
  • Boost our self-esteem when we are feeling low
  • Make us smile when we are deflated
  • Distract us from our negative thoughts
  • Inspire hope and purpose within us when the future seems gloomy
  • In general, resources can help 'shine a light' on depression.

Throughout My Resources, the different types of healthcare practitioners are listed in alphabetical order to assist you in searching for information about a particular type of healthcare practitioner.

While depressioNet does not endorse one type of practitioner over another, we do recommend that if you think you have depression but are not sure, it is a good idea to start by seeing a general practitioner (GP) for an official diagnosis.
